Clinic Introduction

In 1965, the Twin Cities United Evangelical Mission Church began a special mission, which was to provide dental care to those in need. Dr. Dale Jacobson, a group of his students, and São Paulo dentists worked on the project. The first clinic was located in the basement of the Bethel Hotel in downtown St. Paul. Fifty years have passed. Although the location and staff of the clinic have changed one after another, the original intention of serving others has never changed. The clinic grew and moved from the Bethel Hotel to the Union Gospel Mission campus on University Avenue in East St. Paul. By January 2018, it had a new name, Hope Dental Clinic, and became an independent non-profit company. Now, the clinic is celebrating its fifth anniversary, and it’s really worth celebrating! Hope Dental Clinic serves thousands of people every year at its current location. Those who do not have dental insurance, or cannot afford care elsewhere, are our patients. Our clinic has always relied on the help of licensed physicians as well as students who are new to the dental field. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to survive without donations from the community. So, I really want to thank you all!
